Electrical Networks
As part of the OTS I have developed for utility plants I have simulated the site electrical networks.
One steam turbine driven generator and 12 gas turbine driven generators, spread over 3 plants with isolatable tie-lines in a triangle, and single isolatable tie-line to the electrical power grid.
Network frequency, real and reactive power and network voltage simulated. I emulated the site electrical network management and control logic that controlled network frequency and voltage, real or reactive power transfer between the plants and with the external electrical grid, and bumpless isolation and reconnection of the 3 plants. The emulation of the electrical network management and control logic provided the logic to set the generator operating modes, (isochronous, droop, MW set point, MW share and for the steam turbine extraction steam control), as well as the functionality required to operate the electrical network management and control logic from the emulated DCS console.
Three steam turbine driven generators and 2 gas turbine driven generators, and Variable Frequency Driver on gas turbine driven compressor.
Only network frequency and real power simulated.
